An overgrown dull space directly outside the kitchen window, the clients wanted a new focal point that would enhance the space and the idea for a natural pool was born. Shallow planting shelves with cobbles stretch into the water creating a fantastic wildlife space with beautiful marginal planting surrounding the space.

The 'Before Picture'. A space in need of something to define it .....
Straight after completion, this pond has a sloping beach to help wildlife use it as much as possible. The waterfall helps improve water quality by adding oxygen and preventing stagnation. The planting may look sparse now but our pictures from a year or so later show just what it develops into.
A couple of seasons later and the planting has matured around this natural pond. The water is crystal clear without any major filtration and the planting is a joy.
The cobbles & pebbles soften under the planting and the mix of plant types offer a variety of habitats for a huge array of wildlife.
