Driveway

The clients had a fairly steep tarmac driveway but needed much more parking space with a reduced gradient and space for parking their caravan.  
Quite a complex project, ensuring driveway angles would allowe for caravan manoeuvrability whilst always keeping aesthetics at the forefront.

 The plot had a steep gradient from road to house, and we needed to adjust the slope in order to prevent cars grounding-out when towing the caravan. A full site survey gave us the measurements needed to plan this well in advance.

 The reformed stone blocks used to build the retaining walls contrast with the charcoal grey block pavers and gravel and prevent the overall effect being too dark.

 The caravan parking area is laid to aggregate to reduce cost, with plenty of parking space remaining on the rest of the drive.

 On the opposite side of the garden, sleeper retainers are again an inexpensive solution and help the planting & newly seeded lawn act as a soft foil against the hard landscaping. The griselinia hedge in the raised border will quickly thicken up
